eCheck Casinos

An eCheck is an electronic cheque: the casino’s processor pulls from a chequing account using transit and account numbers, then waits on clearing. It is not Interac e-Transfer (no email, no Autodeposit) and not an iDebit overlay. Expect business days, not minutes.

Max withdrawalOften lower than cards; CA$2,500–CA$5,000 is a common band
Deposit time1–5 business days (clearing, not casino animation)
Withdrawal time3–7 business days after casino release

ProvincesOffered where the processor supports CAD chequing details. Less common than e-Transfer at Canadian-first cashiers. Ontario iGO brands may omit eCheck entirely. No separate provincial eCheck statute.

Figures are typical cashier ranges at Canadian-facing casinos. The operator’s own banking page wins if it disagrees.

Clearing, not “instant banking”

Marketing sometimes files eCheck under instant banking. The rail is the opposite: batch clearing, possible holds, NSF if the account cannot cover the pull. If you wanted minutes, you wanted e-Transfer or a bank overlay.

What you type

Institution number, transit, account. Canadian formats differ from US ABA routing. A mistyped transit is a failed item several days later, not an instant decline.

Withdrawals

eCheck payouts exist at some brands and are among the slower bank options — comparable to a cheque in the mail without the paper. For speed after KYC, crypto or e-wallets beat this rail. See fast payout casinos.

Risk

Returned items can freeze the casino account until the processor is whole. Do not eCheck a deposit you cannot cover. This is the main reason the method is a last resort next to Interac.

FAQ

Why is eCheck slow?

It follows cheque/ACH clearing, not Interac’s real-time messaging. Weekends and bank holidays sit outside the clock.

Can the casino take money I did not approve?

You authorize a pull. Keep the printed or PDF receipt. A second pull without a new mandate is a support ticket, not a feature.

Should I use eCheck if I already have e-Transfer?

Almost never for deposits. Use eCheck only when the cashier has no Interac product and you refuse cards.
